Upcycling an Old Cassette Crate!

Hi Friends! I know you are probably shocked to see me back with a project of my own, and not just the weekly party!  It has, unfortunately been a very long time.... There is a very good, life altering, reason for that, which I hope to share with you very soon.  But, for today, I just wanted to get back at it!

I had the most fun with this little DIY Chalk Paint do-over!  Do you remember, or maybe you still have some of these wonderful little wooden crates, that were so popular in the 70's and 80's for holding your cassettes?  I know I had at least a few.
Unfortunately, I had, actually, gotten rid of mine quite some time ago. (Pre-Blogging) I happened upon this, pretty beat up one, at a what Californian''s call a CURB ALERT! That, which was not scooped up at a tag or garage sale the day before, has been left out for FREE for people to help themselves before they load it up for the Goodwill or dump! These alerts are, definitely, my new favorite thing!
Anyhow.....After getting my little find home, I realized it was definitely worse for wear. So I got our my wood glue and a few tack nails, and it was good as new! From that point on, it just transformed into one of my new favorite little pieces! Call it Shabby Chic, French Country, Rustic Farmhouse, etc... I just love it!
A little chalk paint, a little distressing a little soft natural wax and I have a wonderful new centerpiece! For FREE, and very little work. :)

I had just been blessed by an invitation to a dear friend's luscious backyard gardens. So, after church, I headed over and was so lucky that she just has too much to use!! Which equals.....me in a candy store! She let me go through and pick all my favorite blooms and then cut and offered me even more!! It was a good day!
So this is what took over my passengers seat on the way home! Yes, I know, very lucky lady, right here.
I thought the green hydrangeas tipped with bits of burgundy were just perfect for this time of year,  transitioning from Summer into Fall!
What do you think?
I'm so grateful for all your wonderful visits and comments. Thank you so much for always being there, many Blessings to you all, dear friends! Have a wonderful week!
~Theresa
